FUGLEBURET
The Danish artist Fugleburet works with a comprehensive examination of the paintings ability to be figurative and abstract at the same time. Fugleburet (‘birdcage’ in English) is his artist pseudonym. The name refers to his upbringing which was influenced by the presence of many pet birds. In his artistic practice Fugleburet has a sublime understanding of composing colors and forms. He works with both paintings and sculptures, and regardless of chosen media he consistently incorporates the bird figure as his primary motif. The works of Fugleburet are structured by a composition that can be understood as expressionistic abstraction, where recognizable and figurative elements appears but the painting remains abstract. The viewer is thus often met with silhouttes, outlines and many references to the ornithological world.
Fugleburets creative approach helps generate poetic details, whereby the viewer is drawn to experience the endless compositional details and color combinations in his works. Fugleburet (b. 1977), lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark.
